There is a lot of competition in the technology sector, specifically within personal storage. First, Dropbox was on the scene, offering users and easy way to store data and sync that data between computers. Then, the competition started to creep in. Other free services like Google Drive and Microsoft SkyDrive started offering free storage plans too.
For the average user, Dropbox or any of these other data storage platforms, like VMware Flings, work just fine. However, for the average techie, some extra space may be required. To solve that, most people using Dropbox for small business opted for the entry-level plan that offers 100 GB of space at $9.99 monthly or $99 yearly. However, with competition increasing, Dropbox decided to improve their offering.
Increase In Storage
Recently, they announced that customers on their entry-level plan would receive 1 TB for the same price of their current plan. That is a an incredible increase in storage! For even mid-size businesses, that is plenty of space to store all your finance apps and more.
Whether this was a direct response to increasing competition or a strategic move to retain more customers, the increase is huge. If you are using Dropbox, it is a great treat. If you’re not using Dropbox yet, you might want to look into it.
Extended Version History
Dropbox Extended Version History is an optional additional feature for Dropbox Plus users. Extended Version History allows users to keep previous file versions and deleted files without taking up paid for space. Unfortunately, this is not included in the basic Dropbox pricing. However, it is offered for just $39 extra a year. This is a great feature to consider if you often find yourself needed something you recently deleted or changed, or you work for a book publishing software company or similar.
Expect More Improvements
After this large increase of digital space, we can expect to see more improvements from the company. It should be exciting to see what other improvements they have in mind. Dropbox Business
Dropbox Business pricing is slightly different from traditional Dropbox prices. Dropbox for Business will run you about $15 per user per month. This is a much better deal than most Comcast offers. However, you must have at least five users in order to qualify for the Dropbox Business pricing. This Dropbox pricing will grant you access to unlimited storage, which is certainly nice. If you have five or more users, this is certainly something to consider.
Dropbox Competition Prices
Just in case you want to do some price shopping, we did it for you so you do not have to waste your time. Dropbox pricing is currently setting the standard for cloud storage pricing, with virtually every competitor offering their services at 9.99/month for 1TB, as well. However, there is one company that has them beat. OneDrive offers 1TB of cloud storage for only 6.99/month. So if you are looking for the cheapest cloud storage provider available for all your project management needs, OneDrive is the company to beat. However, many Dropbox fans would rather pay the extra money and remain loyal to the company.
